At Zingerman’s Catering we’re celebrating Made in Michigan Month by highlighting favorites from our menu that paired together create a Michigan feast that your guests won’t soon forget! As your guests arrive a Zingerman’s Creamery Cheese Basket, beautifully arranged with a selection of cheeses from our award-winning Creamery, will set the theme and the mood. These cheeses are made with fresh local milk, hand-ladled and gently pasteurized to protect their delicate flavor.
After the wine has been poured, and the cheese has provided a promise of what’s to come, the Ernst Farm Porchetta will awe your guests with its depth of flavor. We are taking hogs from Ernst Farm here in Washtenaw County and making a luscious roulade of pork belly and loins, rubbing it with a signature blend of spices and slowly roasting the meat for over 5 hours. The end result is tender and juicy meat that goes great served with a piping hot side of polenta. We’ll bring along a green salad made with local produce whenever possible and Zingerman’s Bakehouse Farm bread with Michigan farm butter.
What better way to end an autumnal Michigan feast than with some Apple Crisp? We’ll take the best local apples the market has to offer and bake them into a buttery pastry crumble. Remarkable on its own, paired with Gelato from Zingerman’s Creamery the crisp evolves into a dessert that will have your guests scraping their plates!
