About Zingerman's Catering

Since we opened our doors in 1982 we have been bringing the Zingerman’s experience to full-flavored food lovers all over Michigan and the Midwest, reaching as far as Chicago, Cleveland, and Indiana.

We’ve had the pleasure to take part in many fabulous celebrations from weddings to corporate events, bar mitzvahs, bat mitzvahs to birthday parties and tailgates to summer picnics. Whatever the special occasion we’ll make sure the food is looking and tasting its absolute best.

We pride ourselves on treating our guests like royalty (in fact, we’ve written a book about it). With Zingerman’s Catering and Events, you can be confident that the service will be five stars.

We think entertaining should be dramatic and fun. Whether it’s Chrysler Hot Wheels racing around a track on the Chrysler buffet, miniature Michigan football players lined up on the gridiron for a tailgate buffet, or the Eiffel Tower looking down on a French cheese display, we’ll bring our creativity and cleverness to the table. We’ll work with you to design a look and feel for your buffet that is as visually stunning as it is enticing to the taste buds.

Our event planner will make your event worry free and allow you to receive your guests in style. Not only will we bring the food, but we’ll also take care of all the details. Starting with the menu, we’ll seek out the finest ingredients and recipes to create a menu that suits you and your guests.

To make that happen takes food that knocks your socks off, a friendly, knowledgeable service staff that truly caters to you and a team of imaginative event planners and sales staff that are happy to listen to what you have in mind.

We are confident that you will be thrilled with the end result. We know it is a pretty big goal but we have been doing this since 1982. In fact, we guarantee that if you aren’t happy with our food or service, we will refund your hard earned cash. It is just that simple.

Catering orders can be picked up at Zingerman's Deli or delivered to your door. Should you like service staff or rentals our full service event team would love to help! Call us at (734) 663-3400 and we’ll talk through your needs.
Yes we deliver! Within Ann Arbor, the weekday rate is $20 for a one hour delivery window or $40 for a premium 30 minute window. Weekend delivery is $30. For deliveries outside of Ann Arbor rates vary based upon door to door distance. The rate for UM Football Saturdays, UM Spring Commencement & holidays is $45. Our delivery hours are 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 2:00 pm Saturday and Sunday.  We would be happy to quote a price for you!

Place your order for food at least 48 hours in advance for pickup and delivery orders to secure your desired delivery time and menu selection. We book up quickly and more notice is always best. Call us at (734) 663-3400 or order online. We understand that everyone has last minute, unexpected needs, so we can be flexible with some menu items. If you are planning a full service event, please call us anytime to start planning! We prefer to obtain payment information when pickup and delivery orders are placed. If you have provided payment information your payment will be processed once your order is fully confirmed, up to 4 days prior to the date of your event. We may email you a link through which you can make payment during the confirmation process if payment information has not already been provided. Our full-service events require a 20% booking deposit to secure the date and our services. The remaining balance is processed after your event.
We require a 20% booking deposit for full-service events.  We do not require a deposit for pickup and delivery orders.
We accept Mastercard, Visa, American Express, or Discover, and can keep your card information stored securely on file for future orders. We also accept business and personal checks as well as University of Michigan short codes.
We require a minimum of 48 hour notice for pickup and delivery cancellations.  We require a 2 week notice for full service event cancellations.  If you need to cancel after these times, we will charge you 50% of your order to cover the cost of the food and staff time that has gone into preparing for your order.
Zingerman’s Catering and Events has all compostable or reusable serviceware! We compost all food waste from our kitchen prep work. We have a team of dedicated stewards at the Deli that are working on energy savings and other sustainability initiatives. We are committed to decreasing the carbon footprint created by our services.
Compostable serviceware is included free of charge!  If you need disposable place settings we have several different options ranging from compostable paper plates and flatware to a more upscale compostable bambu®. Ask us about our options and we're happy to include them with your order!
Our pickup hours are Monday-Friday 9am-4pm and Saturday 11am-2pm. Zingerman’s Catering is located within Zingerman’s Deli at 422 Detroit St. For curbside pickups pull up to our receiving dock on Kingsley (around the corner from the Deli’s front door) and call us at (734) 663-3400.  Our sales team will take about 5 minutes to double check that the order is complete and bring it to your car.  If your pickup falls outside of our standard times we will work with you to ensure a quick and easy pickup experience.

Catering Delivery Policy

DELIVERY WINDOW & SET-UP

Deliveries are scheduled for 11 am and later using a one-hour window.
Our drivers aim to arrive in the first half of that window and may arrive as early as the beginning of the window. If our driver expects to arrive in the latter half of the window, they will let you know by phone.

Our service is complete: our knowledgeable delivery drivers not only guarantee the prompt arrival of your order within the quoted window, we will also bring the order inside the building and even set it up.

Accurate delivery addresses and contact information are a crucial part of offering you the best possible service.
Please have your exact delivery location (including building, suite, and room number) ready when you place your order, along with the name and phone number of a contact person who will be present at the location and time of delivery.

 

Additional Costs

Return trips for clean-up, drop-off of extra food, etc. will incur an additional delivery charge, and very large deliveries may require extra service.
