Plan a Michigan Feast with Zingerman’s Catering

PorchettaAt Zingerman’s Catering we’re celebrating Made in Michigan Month by highlighting favorites from our menu that paired together create a Michigan feast that your guests won’t soon forget! As your guests arrive a Zingerman’s Creamery Cheese Basket, beautifully arranged with a selection of cheeses from our award-winning Creamery, will set the theme and the mood. These cheeses are made with fresh local milk, hand-ladled and gently pasteurized to protect their delicate flavor.

After the wine has been poured, and the cheese has provided a promise of what’s to come, the Ernst Farm Porchetta will awe your guests with its depth of flavor. We are taking hogs from Ernst Farm here in Washtenaw County and making a luscious roulade of pork belly and loins, rubbing it with a signature blend of spices and slowly roasting the meat for over 5 hours. The end result is tender and juicy meat that goes great served with a piping hot side of polenta. We’ll bring along a green salad made with local produce whenever possible and Zingerman’s Bakehouse Farm bread with Michigan farm butter.

What better way to end an autumnal Michigan feast than with some Apple Crisp? We’ll take the best local apples the market has to offer and bake them into a buttery pastry crumble. Remarkable on its own, paired with Gelato from Zingerman’s Creamery the crisp evolves into a dessert that will have your guests scraping their plates!

Spanish Paella Party

paella-peopleZingerman’s Deli guests have been enjoying our annual Paella Party on the Deli Patio for years (This year it’s on Sunday, September 7th), but did you know that Zingerman’s Catering can bring the party to your home? Zingerman’s Catering will create the Paella on location. Just imagine the aromas filling your home as the gently cooking sofrito transforms into soccarat—the crust at the bottom of the paella pan that forms when the saffron broth has been rendered—and the Bomba rice is cooked to perfection, enticing your guests to dinner!

We’ll start you off with an array of delectable tapas: Manchego and Mahon cheeses, Serrano ham-wrapped asparagus, imported Spanish olives and stuffed piquillo peppers.

Next, your paella arrives in a traditional paella pan brimming with free-range Amish chicken, Spanish chorizo, shellfish, Bomba rice and saffron served with a salad of market fresh tender baby field greens dressed with a Marcona almond vinaigrette, Bakehouse artisan breads and Spanish olive oil for dipping.

To end the evening on a sweet note we present caramelized flan with fresh berries, fresh roasted house blend coffee from Zingerman’s Coffee Company with real whipped cream and rich dark chocolate shavings.

Plan a Michigan Feast with Zingerman’s Catering

At Zingerman’s Catering we’re celebrating Made in Michigan Month by highlighting favorites from our menu that paired together create a Michigan feast that your guests won’t soon forget! As your guests arrive a Zingerman’s Creamery Cheese Basket, beautifully arranged with a selection of cheeses from our award-winning Creamery, will set the theme and the mood. These cheeses are made with fresh local milk, hand-ladled and gently pasteurized to protect their delicate flavor.

After the wine has been poured, and the cheese has provided a promise of what’s to come, the Zingerman’s Porchetta will awe your guests with its depth of flavor. We are taking hogs from Ernst Farm here in Washtenaw County and making a luscious roulade of pork belly and loins, rubbing it with a signature blend of spices and slowly roasting the meat for over 5 hours. The end result is tender and juicy meat that goes great served with a piping hot side of polenta. We’ll bring along a green salad made with local produce whenever possible and Zingerman’s Bakehouse Farm bread with Michigan farm butter.

What better way to end an autumnal Michigan feast than with some Apple Crisp? We’ll take the best local apples the market has to offer and bake them into a buttery pastry crumble.     Thrifty Thea’s Red Bag Lunch

    You and your guests can enjoy any of the Zing on a String sandwiches or entrée salads, a bag of crispy Zapp’s Potato Chips, a micro-sized brownie and one of our famous crunchy pickles for just $14 per bag.     Chocolate Dipped Marshmallows & Strawberries

    Is there any confection that says, “I love you”, better than chocolate? We don’t think so either! So if you’re looking for a unique way to sweeten this Valentine’s season, look no further than Halley’s Marshmallow Dreams or Jess’s Exquisite Chocolate Strawberries. First we take handmade Zingerman’s Candy Manufactory vanilla marshmallows or plump ripe strawberries and dip them in rich, decadent Michel Cluizel dark chocolate. Then we take the chocolate dipped marshmallows and toss them in one of three toppings — fresh toasted coconut, almond slivers, or a dusting of crumbled Bakehouse graham crackers, or we’ll adorn the strawberries with either white chocolate, toasted coconut or slivered almonds.     It’s Pot Pie season at Zingerman’s Catering! We’ve combined the warm, buttery goodness of our housemade Zingerman’s Deli Pot Pies with the crowd-pleasing convenience of our bag lunches to create the ultimate winter feast for your office – Zingerman’s Catering Pot Pie Bag Lunches.

    Pick from a bevy of individual pot pies – there’s a flavor for every palate! Each pie will be sent hot, with a tossed green salad, balsamic vinaigrette, a mini brownie, napkin and utensils. All this for only $16.50 each!

      Made from a 4-H Tamworth hog raised by Nic Harnois a future star farmer from Northern Washtenaw Co. Braised with onions, apple cider and spices then stuffed in a handmade pastry crust with apples from Kapnick Orchards in Britton, MI. Wrapped miner style (no tin).

    One of our staff favorites, these Zingers are always sure to make an appearance at any party that a member of our department throws. Whether it’s your wedding, tailgating before the game, or just a get together with friends, these mini sandwiches are sure to impress even the most discerning palates.
