![]() Dear Graduate, It’s here. Congratulations! Over the last four years, you’ve attended 900 hours of lectures, 600 hours of seminars, you’ve written 30,000 words, taken 64 exams, awakened for 80 9am classes and skipped another 20 of the same. Your exams have shown many professors that you really were paying attention, despite the presence of the Michigan Daily crossword puzzle in your notebook. You’ve spent 200 hours in the Fishbowl (3 of those looking for a computer), and 200 hours in the labs at the Chem building. You’ve changed majors once, maybe twice, but you found your calling. You’ve gone from naïve freshman living with a new friend in Markley to a confident senior, living with your best friends in an 8 bedroom house on Linden. Perhaps you’ve seen the world, with a semester studying art in Italy or a week in Texas building houses with Alternative Spring Break. You’ve bought a suit, attended job fairs, you’ve written countless cover letters and polished your resume to show employers how all this experience has made you the best employee they could possibly have. Only one test remains – you have to feed your family on Graduation day. I was there. I graduated only two years ago, and I had no clue how to celebrate properly with my family after graduation. I didn’t know much about graduation except for one thing – Ann Arbor would be crowded. By the time it occurred to me to make a dinner reservation, all the local restaurants were filled up. What to do? I wish I had known about Zingerman’s Catering graduation menu, because we make it so easy to feed friends and family on graduation day, for these reasons: • We have a great menu of favorites for graduation day, including our classic deli sandwiches, our famous cookies and brownies, and Oprah’s favorite, our barbecue beef brisket. We also have breakfast! Bagels, pastries, fruit, all the food you need to enjoy a lovely graduation brunch. Check out the whole menu here. • Not sure how much to order? Give us a call and tell us a bit about who you’re feeding, and we’ll make sure you get enough food for everyone. • We make it easy to get this food to where you want to be. Your order can be picked up here at the deli, and you don’t even have to find a place to park! Your out-of-towner parents will sing your praises for not having to find a parking spot in Kerrytown. Just pull your car up to the curb and we’ll bring your order to you. • We also deliver anywhere in Ann Arbor for $25. Just ask us for rates outside of this area. • We are happy to include paper plates, napkins and cutlery and all your serving utensils for absolutely free. Or, maize and blue plastic plates, napkins and utensils for $1 per person. Either way, no one will have to do dishes! • Did I mention dessert? We have our famous and delicious magic brownies and cookies, plus a special M cookie for the illustrious graduate. Cakes from our Bakehouse are another great way to really make the celebration. You can check out the designs here. • Want to throw the party of a lifetime? Or perhaps just not want to worry about cleaning up at the end? Our events planners can help you with a graduation party. They can work with you on the big question marks like rentals and service and really give you a graduation to remember. Just call us at (734) 663-3400 and we’ll make the magic happen. • Even if you find yourself needing food at the last minute, give us a call. We’re here for you. We understand life as an almost graduate is busy – packing, getting in the last few nights out with your roommates, and making sure you’ve got your cap and gown. And sometimes relatives appear from nowhere. Give us a call. Congratulations again on joining the ranks of the proud Michigan alumna.

Catering tip #3
Summer’s coming! When planning your warm-weather event, keep in mind that you’ll need about 2 pounds of ice per guest (a little more if your event is outdoors). This will give you plenty of ice for cooling bottles and dishes, and icing up those refreshing summer cocktails!
